Definition: Epilepsy is a brain disorder in which people have recurring seizures. It is caused by a disruption in the nerve cell activity in the brain. During the seizure, the person may feel or act differently. The signs and symptoms can vary greatly from person to person. Some people may stare blankly when having a seizure, while others may twitch.
