Definition: Although the term "ptosis" may be used to describe the drooping of any organ, it is usually used to refer to drooping of the upper eyelid. It may occur in one or both eyes and may be present at birth or develop later in life due to the normal aging process, an injury, or a disease. Treatment options may include surgery and regular eye doctor visits.
