Definition: Angiography is a medical test that helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions and diseases of the blood vessels. An angiography will produce pictures of major blood vessels throughout the body and can be performed with one of three imaging technologies (x-rays, computed tomography scans, or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)). Some angiographies are done using contrast materials.
