Malignant hyperthermia

Is the health of a person with malignant hyperthermia only jeopardized when anesthesia is used or are there daily complications that a person with this condition has to endure if they don't receive some sort of treatment?

The vast majority of malignant hyperthermia cases occur during or immediately following anesthesia. However, there is growing evidence that some patients may develop malignant hyperthermia with exercise and/or exposure to hot environments (after heat stroke).[1]
