Ningol Chakouba
Ningol Chakouba, also known as Ningol Chakkouba or Hiyangei Nini Paanba (Meitei for 'second day of Hiyaangei'), is a traditional Meitei festival, celebrated by the Meitei people in the second lunar day of Hiyangei (October–November) month of Meitei calendar. It is celebrated in the theme of strengthening the bond of love between married ningol (Meitei for 'ladies') and their paternal families.[1][2][3][4][5] In addition to its celebration in western countries, like Australia and Canada,[6][7] by Indian diasporas, it is also celebrated in many Indian cities, outside Manipur, including but not limited to Bangalore,[8][9][10] Delhi,[11][12][13][14] Kolkata,[15][16] Mumbai,[17] Pune,[18][19][20][21] Shillong,[22] Silchar,[23][24] among many others.[25]
