2008 Toledo vs. Michigan football game

The 2008 Toledo vs. Michigan football game was a regular season college football game between the Toledo Rockets and Michigan Wolverines. It was held at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on October 11, 2008, and was the six game of the season for both teams.

Toledo

The Rockets started the season with a 41–16 loss to Arizona. They won their first game of the season by beating Eastern Michigan by the score of 41–17 to start off the MAC season at 1–0. Toledo lost against No.25 Fresno State in double overtime by the score of 55–54. They also lost the following week to FIU, 35–16.[1]

Michigan

The Wolverines started the season with a loss in a close game versus Utah by the score of 25–23. Michigan won their first game of the season by beating Miami (OH) in a close game by the score of 16–6. They dropped their rivalry game against Notre Dame by the score of 35–17. The Wolverines upset No. 9 Wisconsin by the score of 27–25. They lost to Illinois by the score of 45–20.[2]

Aftermath

Toledo became the first Mid–American Conference (MAC) team to beat Michigan. The Wolverines were 24–0 against MAC schools until they lost to Toledo. This was Michigan's worst record, 2–4, after six games since 1967.
