Plot
Mamooty is a rich plantation owner leading a simple lonely life as a professor. He likes his student Revathi who is chirpy and always up to pranks. When he professes his feelings, she rejects saying she was not aware of this and only her parents get to decide . Dejected he tries to forget her. Revathi meanwhiles goes back to her hometown after studies. Her neighbour Rahman silently loves her but his mother disapproves and instead selects her sister (the green eyed Shari as she is not that much educated as Revathi and will be a better match for her IAS son). Silently Rahman gives in. Revathi is innocent of all this and obediently agrees to marry a doctor of her father's choice. Both the marriages take place and Revathi goes for honeymoon with her husband to Kodai. She eventually mets Mamooty again who realises that her husband is actually a villain wanted in a murder case. Revathi warns him as she is suspicious of his intentions in meeting her again and again. The husband and his friends molest Revathi and she eventually kills her husband for this. She delivers a baby girl in jail and Mamooty agrees to take care of the baby until she finishes her jail term. Revathy shines as the main heroine. She shows all emotions like an innocent student, a dutiful mother, an obedient wife finally an angry frustrated dejected victim. Mamooty, of course, is perfect as a some one smitten by his student, a lonely painter, a dejected lover and repentant later. Rahman looks cute in one of his early roles as a silent lover.
