History

Early years and Adolescent’s Orquesta (1995–present)

In 1995, Adolescent's Orquesta released their first album, Reclaiming Our Space. The debut album produced six number one songs on the Record Report with hits such as "Today I've learnt", "I cannot be your friend" and "Longing". It was the most widespread album on Venezuelan and Latin American radio stations for several weeks.

At the end of 1996, their second album, Ideal Person, was released. All of its tracks ranked top 10 on Salsa radio stations. This album contains hits such as "Repented", "Social Class", "Jealousy and Distance", "Pretty hours", and "Ideal person", which became the orchestra's first videoclip.

The Same Feather, an album released in 1998, contained the songs "Call me", "If You Leave", "Confessions", "Sweetheart Sweetheart", and "Discreet Lovers". The album also generated two videoclips ("He Denied Me", Fingerprints") and the single "Playing To Win", a single that made the group the protagonists of the hit mini series "Playing To Win". With the assistance of Vladimir Perez, composer of the single and producer of the television channel "Venevisi6n", the mini series was broadcast not only in Venezuela, but also Peru, Chile, and Colombia. This song stayed for six weeks among the top positions on the country's stations.

For many years The Adolescent's Orchestra has combined the creation and release of records with tours. Since its creation, the orchestra has performed in countries such as Colombia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Costa Rica, Holland, Argentina, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, United States, among others. In one of its tours, the orchestra performed for Pope Saint John Paul II at the closing mass of World Youth Day 2000 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

Since its inception, The Adolescent's Orchestra has been awarded on several occasions: "Mara de Oro I Golden Mara" award; "Meridiano de Oro I Golden Meridian" award; "Estrella de Oro/ Golden Star" award (given in New York with the merit Breakout Orchestra, 1995 and 1997); "A.C.E" award (presented by the Association of Latin Entertainment Critics of New York); nomination for "Premio Lo Nuestro / Ours Award"; "Globo de Oro I Golden Globe" award (tropical/salsa category), among others.

In 1999, the Adolescent's Orquesta released Millenium Hits, an album of remixes of their earlier hits featuring the new singers they had acquired since their formation. In 2001, they released their fifth album, Now More Than Ever, which produced chart hits "Virgin", "Jealous", "Elderly" and "I Like It". This last song was recorded in the Dominican Republic with the collaboration of Luis Rosario.

The album Look for Me, released in 2005, achieved three number-one hits on the Record Report with the tracks: "The Love Is Over", "That Place" and "Be Aware". In addition, "If You Knew" and "Body Without Soul" ranked top 5. Then, in 2006, the CD/ DVD V.I.P Edition was released, featuring the most recognized hits and video clips of The Adolescent's Orquesta's career. The album Stamps of My DNA was released in 2009, including the songs "Trust", "You Don't Want", "Dancing" and "Heartbreaker".

At the beginning of 2011 the orchestra was awarded the "Star of Venezuela" award for Best Orchestra of the year.[2]
