History

The Khilji dynasty ruler Alauddin Khilji ordered to built a more good building (Minar) near the Qutub Minar on his name, Alai Minar means the Minaret of Alauddin. However the Ruler died when only the basement of the Monument was completed. Hence it was not even seen by other ruler to complete it. It is standing like that still.[8]

Alauddin Khilji had also built the Alai Darwaza at the entrance of Qutub Minar complex.[9][10]
