Ali Nouri Zangir

Ali Faez oğlu Nouri Zangir (Azerbaijani: Əli Faez oğlu Nuri Zangir; born 2 January 1996) is an IranianAzerbaijani professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga 2 club Persiba Balikpapan. He once played for Iran[1] and Azerbaijan youth team.

Early life

Ali Nouri Zangir was born on 2 January 1996, in the capital of Iran province Alborz, the city of Karaj. Started playing football at the age of 7 in his hometown. Until the age of 11, he played in different age categories of the Poora Tehran. The first coach was Farhad Dadashi. In 2014, he and his family moved to Azerbaijan, where he received local citizenship, while retaining Iranian citizenship.

Club career

Foolad

From 2008 to 2014 he performed in various age categories (up to 15, 16, 17, and 18 years old) of the Iranian club Foolad, representing the city of Ahvaz, Khuzestan province.[2] In the 2012–13 season, as part of the U-18 team, he won the Iranian Championship in this age category.

Neftchi

After moving to Azerbaijan in 2014, he was involved in the youth team of Neftchi U19, where he spent more than 3 months. Failing to get a transfer list from the Iranian club Foolad, for two years he was content with individual training.

Kapaz

In February 2017, he signed a one-year professional contract with the Azerbaijani club Kapaz, where he spent the whole season.[3][4] He made his debut on 9 February 2017 in the away match of the 17th round against the Sumgayit. Played the first 24 minutes of the game and was substituted.[5]

Sabah

He spent the 2017–18 season in the First Division as part of the Sabah. Entered the field in 26 games, scoring 3 goals against opponents.[6] He also played in Azerbaijan Cup matches.[7]

Taliya

Arriving in Oman in 2019, he signed a contract in September with the first league club Taliya from the city of Sur. He stayed at the club for 3.5 months, until January 2020. During this time he played 12 games and scoring 2 goals.

Samail

After leaving from Taliya, he signs a one-year contract with another representative of the Omani club Samail.[8][9] At the end of the season, the team won silver medals in the championship in Group B. Ali enters the field in 7 matches.

Persiba Balikpapan

In August 2023, Ali signed a contract with Persiba Balikpapan.[10]

International career

U17

As part of the Iran U17, he took part in the international football tournament in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, among national teams under-17 years old.[11]

U19

After arriving in Baku in 2014 and accepting Azerbaijani citizenship, in the same year he was involved in the selection camps of the Azerbaijan U19, after which he participated in several friendly matches.

U21

In 2017, he was called up to the Azerbaijan U21.[12] In 2018, he took part in two international tournaments held in the Turkish resort city of Antalya.[13] He played only 4 games and scored 1 goal.[14][15]
