Anthony Negus

Anthony Negus is a British classical conductor, since 1999 he has been the music director of the Longborough Festival Opera.[1][2] He is regarded as a "Wagner conductor". In the last decade he has been invited by Melbourne Opera to many of their Germanic opera productions and in 2023 he conducted their Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle in Bendigo, Victoria.[3][4]

Negus worked on the music staff of the Welsh National Opera between 1976 and 2012 assisting conductors such as Sir Richard Armstrong, Sir Charles Mackerras, Vladimir Jurowski, and composer Pierre Boulez.[5][6]
