Career

De Lie opened his first professional season with the Vuelta a Mallorca races. He finished 71st and 117th in the first two races and won the fourth race Trofeo Playa de Palma in a bunch sprint against Juan Sebastián Molano,[4] his first professional victory.[5]

After his win in Mallorca he won nine races in the season, finishing in 13th position in the end of year rankings as the best rider for Lotto–Soudal.[6] He scored many points in the battle to avoid relegation but his team was relegated to the second division.[7]

After taking four wins in the spring of 2023 including his first UCI ProSeries win in the Grand Prix du Morbihan, he was forced to abandon the Four Days of Dunkirk on 16 May after falling heavily during the sprint of the first stage in Abbeville. He was found to have suffered a pneumothorax, fractures of the left clavicle, a rib and the upper part of the sternum.[8] He returned to competition on 25 June in the Belgian National Road Race Championships.
