Career

Prior to the solo project, Shin was a member of the shoegaze band FØG,[2] and also made music under various monikers and projects.[3] In 2020, he released his first album Nosferadoof under the stage name Asian Glow, and later gained attention amid the trend of new emo music formed by a maniac fandom on YouTube and Reddit.[1]

In 2021, he released his second full-length album, Cull Ficle.[4][2] Later that year, he released a split album album, Downfall Of The Neon Youth with close musicians Parannoul and sonhos tomam conta.[5]

In 2022, he collaborated with Swedish musician Weatherday, releasing the EP Weatherglow.[6] In June, he released his third album Stalled Flutes, Means.[1] In August, he performed alongside Parannoul, Brokenteeth, Wapddi, Della Zyr and Fin Fior at Digital Dawn, a concert that celebrated the burgeoning online Korean indie scene.[7] On September 22, he released Paraglow with Parannoul, and received acclaim from TheNeedleDrop and Pitchfork, with contributor Ian Cohen commenting the release "feels like a true collaboration".[8]

On 1 January 2023, he released the single Dorothee Thines.[9]
