BC Uralmash Yekaterinburg

Uralmash Yekaterinburg is a Russian professional basketball team that plays in the VTB United League. They won Russian Basketball Super League 1 championships in 2022 and 2023.

History

The team has history that stems back to the 1940s.[1] Prior to a city name change, the team was known as Uralmash Sverdlovsk. FIBA Hall of Fame member Sergei Belov played for Uralmash in the 1960s.[2]

After winning the Super League 3 championship in 2016–17, Uralmash was promoted to the Super League 2 for the 2017–18 season where they finished third. They were promoted to the Super League 1 for the 2018–19 season. The team finish second in the Super League 1 in 2020–21 and then won back-to-back championships in 2021–22 and 2022–23.[3][4]

In May 2023, Uralmash was promoted to the VTB United League.[5]
