Bauhinia monandra

Bauhinia monandra is a species of leguminous trees, of the family Fabaceae.[3] Common names include pink bauhinia,[4] orchid tree,[4] and Napoleon's plume.[4] The tree is native to Madagascar, where it is widespread in lowland humid forests and dry forests.[1] It has naturalised in Myanmar, Australia, Christmas Island, the Caribbean, southern USA, Colombia, Brazil, and the Pacific Islands.[3][5] The species is invasive in New Caledonia.[6]
