Brahim Merad

Brahim Merad (born 22 August 1953) is the Algerian Minister of Interior and Local Government. He was appointed as minister on 9 September 2022.[1][2]

Education

Merad graduated at the École nationale d'administration.[1][3]

Career

From 1995 until 1997, Merad was the wali of Annaba. He was also a wali in Tiaret, Boumerdes, Médéa and Tizi Ouzou.[4]

He also worked as advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of shadow areas.[3][5][6]

On 21 May 2021, Merad was appointed Mediator of the Republic.[7]

Since 9 September 2022, Merad has been the Minister of the Interior.[3][8]
