Central District (Lashar County)

The Central District of Lashar County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان لاشار) is in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Espakeh.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, the region's population (as a part of the former Lashar District of Nik Shahr County) was 14,297 in 3,071 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 16,421 people in 4,025 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, there were 18,923 inhabitants in 4,810 households.[2]

After the census, two rural districts and the city of Espakeh were separated from Lashar District of Nik Shahr County, elevated to the status of Lashar County, and divided into two districts and four rural districts, with the city as capital of the new county.[3]
