Habib Ur Rehman
Chaudhary Habib Ur Rehman more commonly known as Nayab Sahab (born November 1, 1957) is an Indian Politician and former member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Nuh (Vidhan Sabha constituency) in the Nuh district (previously Mewat District) of Haryana. He was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly once from the Nuh (Vidhan Sabha constituency) (2005 – 2009).[1][2][3]

Early life
Habib Ur Rehman was born to Chaudhary Rahim Khan on November 1, 1957 in his village of Sultanpur-Punahana. He is the youngest of three brothers and four sisters. His father was elected Member of Parliament from Faridabad (Lok Sabha constituency) in 1984 and served until his death on December 18, 1987. His father was also elected to the Haryana Legislative Assembly three times, first in 1967, then in 1972, and finally in 1982 from Nuh (Vidhan Sabha constituency). His father was a two time minister in the Government of Haryana as well.
Political career
Habib Ur Rehman won the 2005 Haryana Legislative Assembly elections from the Nuh (Vidhan Sabha constituency) and served his complete term until 2009. He ran independent and defeated the Indian National Congress candidate, Aftab Ahmed by a margin of 4,359 votes with a total voter turnout of 96,238 votes. [4]
He joined the Indian National Lok Dal party on the 25th of September 2023. He was then later nominated by Abhay Singh Chautala to be the State Vice-President of the Indian National Lok Dal on 15 October 2023. [5][6]
Personal
Habib Ur Rehman is a part of the Rahim Khan Clan, one of the most prominent of all the political families in Mewat region of Haryana. His brother, Chaudhary Mohammad Ilyas, was elected a Member of Legislative Assembly from Punahana in 2020. He has also been elected to the Haryana Legislative Assembly four times and has served as a Cabinet Minister for two terms in the Government of Haryana. His uncle, Chaudhary Sardar Khan, was also elected Member of Legislative Assembly from Nuh (Vidhan Sabha constituency) and also served as Deputy Home Minister in the Government of Haryana (1977–1982).
He is also responsible for the establishment of the first Medical College in the Mewat region of Haryana, Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College (SHKM GMC) alongside Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Rao Inderjeet Singh, Dr. Krishna Pandit, and Azad Mohammad.
He is married to Zaibun Nisha and has 2 children. He studied from Yasin Meo Degree College in Nuh, Haryana.
He worked as a Tehsildar or Executive Magistrate in the Government of Haryana (1983 - 1996) before he was elected a Member of Legislative Assembly, this earned him the more well-known alias 'Nayab Sahab' during the time he was working as a Naib Tehsildar.
A street in Nuh, Haryana, "Nayab Wali Gali" (transl. 'Street of Nayab'), is also named after him.
