Cowards in Compton

"Cowards in Compton" is a diss track released as a single in June 1993 by American rapper Luke with guest rappers JT Money and Clayvoisie. This diss track answers Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg who had dissed Luke on Dre's first solo album, The Chronic on the track "Dre Day".

Background

The feud began when Luke dissed Dr. Dre and his group N.W.A on the track "Fakin' Like Gangsters" from his 1992 studio album "I Got Shit on My Mind. Luke also dissed them in a magazine. Dr. Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg responded with the track "Dre Day" from Dr. Dre's 1992 studio album "The Chronic". Luke then responded with the track "Cowards in Compton".[1][2]

Aftermath

Luke and his entourage ended up having an altercation with the Death Row Records entourage at the Jack the Rapper convention in Atlanta.[3][4][5]
