After that, he was hired by Baazee.com (now eBay India)[4] in 1999 as a marketing and business development manager.[3][5] After his MBA, Sanghvi began working with Celanese Chemicals[4] as a business analysis manager in Dallas and Singapore[5] where he remained for two years, until December 2006.[3] In 2007, Sanghvi tried his second startup in New York City which was creating a fitness tracker connected to a video game.[6] In 2008 he returned to India and started to look for entrepreneurial opportunities. In 2010, he acquired the master franchise for India of Spa L’Occitane,[2] a global beauty services company, and ran it for several years.[7][8] It was during this tenure that he saw much potential in the beauty industry, and decided to launch MyGlamm.[9]
Founding MyGlamm and Good Glamm Group
Sanghvi founded MyGlamm, a direct-to-customer cosmetics company in October 2017.[1][10] In 2020, Sanghvi acquired POPxo, a women-centric digital media platform founded by Priyanka Gill.[11] As Sanghvi was looking to partner with a content platform to create a content-to-commerce experience for MyGlamm and expand his business, the companies were merged.[12] In August 2021, MyGlamm also acquired the parenting community and platform BabyChakra founded by Naiyya Saggi.[13][14]
In September 2021, the founders consolidated the three companies - MyGlamm, POPxo, and BabyChakra, as the Good Glamm Group[15] with Sanghvi as the group founder and CEO, and Gill and Saggi as co-founders of the group.[16]
In 2021 the Good Glamm Group acquired 10 content, creator, and beauty brand companies[6] and also raised US$250 mn in Series C and Series D funding rounds of capital[17] from marquee investors such as Accel, Amazon, Ascent Capital, Alteria Capital, Prosus Ventures (Naspers), Stride Ventures, Trifecta Capital, Wipro Consumer and Warburg Pincus.[18]
The Good Glamm Group became South Asia’s first DTC beauty brand unicorn[19] valued at $1.2 billion in November 2021.[20][21]
