David Womark

David Womark is an American film producer. In 2013 he was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on Life of Pi together with Ang Lee and Gil Netter. Life of Pi was nominated for multiple Academy, BAFTA and Golden Globe awards including: Best Picture and Best Director and was an American Film Institute official selection for “best movie of the year”. Life of Pi emerged as a critical and commercial success, earning over US$609 million worldwide.[1]

Womark, also served as Producer on Pete Berg's, "Deepwater Horizon". Deepwater Horizon is a 2016 American biographical disaster film based on the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Peter Berg directed it from a screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan and Matthew Sand. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O'Brien, and Kate Hudson. It is adapted from "Deepwater Horizon's Final Hours", a December 25, 2010 article in The New York Times written by David Barstow, David Rohde, and Stephanie Saul.[4] depicting the 2010 disaster when the Deepwater Horizon offshore oil-rig exploded—resulting in the worst oil spill in American history.

In 2018, Womark produced the independent Indian film "Love Sonia", directed by Tabrez Noorani,(Slumdog Millionaire). The film was inspired by real-life events in the underground world of international sex trafficking. Love Sonia featured newcomer Mrunal Thakur, with Freida Pinto, Mark Duplass and Demi Moore.
