Banded seabream
The banded seabream (Diplodus fasciatus) is a species of marine fish of the family Sparidae.[2] The species was first described as Sargus fasciatus by Achille Valenciennes in 1830.[3]

Description
This benthopelagic fish grows to an average length of 30 cm, maximum 45 cm. It feeds predominantly on small invertebrates.[4]
Distribution
The fish inhabits rocky bottoms in waters down to 100 metres depth.[4] It occurs in the eastern Atlantic, off the coast of Cape Verde.[1]
