The taxonomic description of Eoporis differens was published in the Bulletin de la Société Entomologique de France by Maurice Pic in 1926. [2]The type specimen was collected by Col. J. B. Corbet in Myanmar and is currently housed in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris.
The species is characterized by its brownish-yellow coloration with black markings, elongate body shape, and antennae that are longer than the body. The male genitalia of Eoporis differens is also distinct from other species in the genus.[3]
Since its original description, there have been few studies on Eoporis differens. However, it has been included in several faunal surveys of the region, including a recent study by Zwick and colleagues (2018) that documented its occurrence in northern Thailand.[4]
In conclusion, Eoporis differens is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae that was first described by Pic in 1926. It is known from Myanmar and Thailand and is characterized by its distinct coloration and elongate body shape. Despite being relatively understudied, it remains an important species in the region's fauna.
