Firdaus Studio
Firdaus Studio is a recording studio headquartered in Dubai, UAE that opened in early 2022, as a collaboration between Expo 2020 Dubai and Oscar award-winning artist and composer A.R. Rahman.[1][2] Firdaus Studio is Dubai's first Certified Dolby Atmos HE studio. It is home to the Firdaus Orchestra - the first all-female, Arabic ensemble. The studio is located in Al Forsan Zone, Expo City Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[3][4]
History
The Firdaus Studio was announced in March 2020 as part of the Expo 2020 Dubai legacy plans. It was designed to be a multifaceted musical facility. The studio was built in the former Expo 2020 site, now known as Expo City Dubai.[5][6]
The studio was named Firdaus, which means ‘paradise’ in Arabic, by A.R. Rahman. Firdaus Studio is Dubai's First Certified Dolby Atmos HE studio. The studio also hosts the Firdaus Orchestra, an all-female ensemble of 50 musicians from across the world, who perform traditional and contemporary music under the mentorship of A.R. Rahman.[7]
