Franco Vega

Franco Agustín Vega (born 9 September 2001) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder for Argentine Primera División side Arsenal de Sarandí on loan from Vélez Sarsfield.

Career

Born in Cutral Co, Argentina, Vega was with the city team, Petrolero Argentino, ACDC Patagonia and Boca Juniors before joining the Vélez Sarsfield youth system.[1][2] Having trained with the first team since 2020,[3] he signed his first professional contract in 2021 with them. In August of the same year, he was loaned to Portuguese club Estoril on a deal for a year with an option to buy,[4] making appearances for the under-23 team and winning the 2021–2022 Liga Revelação.[5]

Despite he was promoted to the Estoril first team,[6] he returned to Vélez Sarsfield[7] and he was subsequently loaned to Arsenal de Sarandí for the 2023 season.[8]

Personal life

Vega is of Chilean descent since his paternal grandparents are Chilean, being eligible to represent both Argentina and Chile.[2][1]
