Frank Jotzo
Frank Jotzo is a professor at the Australian National University's Crawford School of Public Policy, Head of Energy at the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions,[1] Director for the ANU Zero Carbon Energy for Asia-Pacific Grand Challenge initiative and Director of the Centre for Climate Economics and Policy at Australian National University.[2] As an environmental economist, his research focuses on policy relevant aspects of climate change, energy, and broader issues of environment, development and economic reform.
Education
Jotzo holds a PhD and a master's degree from the ANU and an undergraduate degree from Humboldt University Berlin.[3]
Research and advisory work
Frank Jotzo is the joint editor-in-chief of the journal Climate Policy and a Lead Author of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 6th and 5th Assessment Reports.[4][5] He leads collaborative research programs including as co-director of the Energy Transition Hub, a bilateral research initiative between Australia and Germany.[6] He has been involved in a number of policy research and advisory exercises, including as senior advisor to Australia's Garnaut Climate Change Review,[7][8] advisor to Indonesia's Minister of Finance, and to the World Bank. He has advised Australian state governments including the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and South Australia as a member of the South Australian Low Carbon Economy Experts Panel.[2][9][10][11]
Jotzo also contributes to academic journalism and news.[12] He has been listed as one of the top 50 global "influencers on renewables and future of energy".[13] He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles as listed on Scopus, with over 13,000 citations of his work listed on Google Scholar.[14]
