Biography

The group was founded in 2008 by the brothers Philip and Lukas Wilhelm and Benedikt Veith under the name "Basement Projekt" in Saarland, when the musicians were still attending high school in Krebsberg. The original band was completed by bassist Matthias Hansen and keyboardist Marius Meinecke. The school band started their first musical activities in 2010, which took the form of two released singles and a few performances, including a concert at the Halberg Open Air in 2012.[2][3] In 2016, with the departure of keyboardist Marius Meinecke, restructuring began within the band, which has been working professionally since 2017. After two line-up changes, From Fall to Spring consisted of the two singers, brothers Philip and Lukas Wilhelm, who also both act as guitarists for the band, until the beginning of 2023, as well as keyboard player Simon Triem, the bassist Benedikt Veith, and the drummer León Arend. At the beginning of 2023, Sebastian Monzel, a sixth musician and guitarist, joined the band.

In 2017, the bands self-financed and self-published five-track debut EP, A Better Tomorrow, was released.[2] A second EP entitled Disconnected followed in 2019.

The original plan was for the group to do their first tour supporting Fight the Fade throughout Germany between June 11th and 20th, 2020.[4][5] However, this tour was canceled due to the COVID- 19 pandemic and the associated regulations by the federal government.

In September 2021, the group signed to German record label Arising Empire and released several singles in the same year.[6][7] In the summer of 2022, the group completed several festival appearances, including at the Full Force and the Pell Mell Festival.[8][9] The musicians announced that they would compete in the TikTok vote to qualify for the German final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, with their song "Draw the Line";[10] the group ultimately did not qualify, receiving the second most votes after Ikke Hüftgold.[11] The band later announced that they wanted to apply again for the German preliminary round in 2024.[12] Their debut album Rise was released April 14, 2023 on Arising Empire.[13] The album debuted at #73 in the German Album Charts.

Music

The band plays a melodic style of metalcore that moves between groups like Bring Me the Horizon, Architects, Falling in Reverse, and Breaking Benjamin.[14]
