Génesis Reasco

Génesis Rosangela Reasco Valdez (born 18 July 1998)[1] is an Ecuadorian freestyle wrestler. She won the gold medal in the women's 76 kg event at the 2022 South American Games held in Asunción, Paraguay. She won the silver medal in her event at the 2022 Bolivarian Games held in Valledupar, Colombia.[2][3] She is also a four-time medalist at the Pan American Wrestling Championships.

Career

Reasco competed in the women's 76 kg event at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru.[4] In 2020, she competed at the Pan American Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Ottawa, Canada without qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.[5] She also failed to qualify for the Olympics at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Sofia, Bulgaria.[6]

Reasco won the silver medal in the women's 76 kg event at the 2021 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Guatemala City, Guatemala.[7][8] At the 2021 U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia, she lost her bronze medal match in the women's 76 kg event.[9] She also lost her bronze medal match in the women's 76 kg event at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.[10][11]

Reasco won the gold medal in her event at the 2022 South American Games held in Asunción, Paraguay.[12][13] She defeated María Acosta of Venezuela in her gold medal match.[13]

She won one of the bronze medals in her event at the 2023 Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was eliminated in her first match in the 76 kg event at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.
