Geomatic Institute of Technology

Geomatic Institute of Technology (Nepali: जियोमेटिक इंस्टीटयूट अफ टेक्नोलोजी) is a private based engineering college established in 2004 AD with aim to impart engineering skills and knowledge related to survey and land management.[1] It is the first and only one dedicated college in Nepal for Geomatics Engineering studies.[2][3] GIT is only taken as alternative for Geomatics Engineering as alternative to Paschimanchal campus by the ones unable to clear TU entrance.

Himalayan College of Geomatics Engineering and Land Management is affiliated to Purbanchal University.[4]

Selection criteria

The following remains the criteria for admission to Bachelor in Geomatics Engineering course at Geomatics Institute of Technology:[5]

  • Applicants should have passed +2 or ISc or Diploma in Surveying or any other engineering field.
  • Applicants should have passed entrance exam taken by University.

Scholarship

It is provided to 10% students in each class depending on various criteria set by the institute.[5] Due to lack of admission and hectic course in PU almost more than half of the seat remain vacant in each batch at GIT.

Geomatics Institute of Technology provides 4 yeared bachelor course in Geomatics Engineering and has affiliation for 40 seats per year.[6][7][3]
