Background

Goodnight Olive is a dark bay or brown filly who was bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and Clearsky Farms and was a $170,000 purchase at the 2019 October Keeneland sale by Steve Laymon's First Row Partners.[3] Goodnight Olive is out of the Smart Strike mare Salty Strike who won the Grade 3 Dogwood Stakes and 2012 Grade 3 Gardenia Stakes along with numerous other victories in stakes company.[4] Goodnight Olive is her third foal.[5]

Goodnight Olive is trained by Eclipse Award trainer Chad C. Brown.

In 2023 Goodnight Olive resumed her career with an impressive win in the Grade I Madison Stakes at Keeneland, her third straight Grade I victory and seventh win over all.[6]
