Ian Mitchell (ice hockey)
Ian Mitchell (born January 18, 1999) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract with the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League (NHL).[1]

Playing career
He played college hockey at the University of Denver and was named AHCA First-Team All-American his junior season.[2] Mitchell was selected 57th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. On April 11, 2020, Mitchell agreed to an entry-level contract with the Blackhawks, forgoing his senior season at Denver.[3] Mitchell scored his first goal in the 2022-2023 season on January 22, 2023 against the Los Angeles Kings.[4]
On June 26, 2023, Mitchell was traded by the Blackhawks to the Boston Bruins with Alec Regula in exchange for Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno.[5] Mitchell signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 with the Bruins on July 10, 2023, avoiding arbitration.[6]
