Imp.

IMP. (read as I. M. P.) is a 7-member Japanese boy band belonging to talent agency TOBE.[1] They made their official debut on 18 August 2023 with the digital release of their first single "CRUISIN'".[2]

History

Originally formed on 16 October, 2020 as part of Johnny and Associates's Johnny's Jr. as the unit called "IMPACTors", name given by Hideaki Takizawa, the group left the agency on 25 May 2023.[3]

On 14 July, the group was introduced as the newest members of the new agency established by Takizawa, TOBE. The announcement was made on TOBE's official YouTube. In the same video, the establishment of official Instagram and Twitter was revealed, as was the opening of their fan club,[4][5] continuing with the name given before, "Pinky", referring to the group's color.[6]

Their debut single "Cruisin'" was released at midnight on 18 August 2023. 14 minutes later, the hashtag #CRUISIN topped the Japanese trends in X (formerly known as Twitter). By 4 P.M. that same day, the song's video had already exceeded 1 million views.[7][8]
