Life and career
Born in Merano as Irene Patuzzi, during the first half of the 1950s Galter was called the "ideal girlfriend" of Italians.[1] She was casually discovered in a shop where she worked as a clerk by Giuseppe De Santis, who launched her career in 1952 with the neorealist film Rome 11:00.[1] After a number of successful films, she married the South Tyrolean entrepreneur Otto Lughin and retired from showbusiness.[1]
