Since 2014, the name Isis has decreased significantly in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia, due to the name being associated with the jihadist terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Many name changes have been recorded as well. By 2015, the name had completely dropped off the top 1000 list of most popular names for baby girls.[2]
