J. W. Stoker

J. W. Stoker[1][2] (September 30, 1927 – April 21, 2022) was an American trick rider and trick roper.[3]

Life and career

Stoker was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado.[4]

Stoker began his career in 1939.[5] He was a stunt rider for Roy Rogers.[4] He also performed as a double for actor Sam Bottoms in the film Bronco Billy.[6][7][8]

In 2011, Stoker was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.[3]

Stoker died on April 21, 2022 in Weatherford, Texas, at the age of 94.[4]
