Early life and education

Jaido P was born in Ogun State, Nigeria.[5]

For his education, he attended Chessvile Private School in Oke Aro, Lagos State, and later studied Local Government Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State.[6]

Career

He performed in the university's music scene alongside Asake, Blaqbonez, and Cheque (formerly Kyle B).[7] His first single there was "Gor Die", and he regularly performed at concerts at the school premises.[8]

After completing his degree, Jaido P focused on his music career. Following a remake version of his single "Gor Die” in 2018, he later released his first official track, "E GET REASON” in 2019, in which he featured Zlatan and Davolee.[9][10]

He released “Faya," and "Run” in February 2020.[11][12]

In July 2020 he collaborated with afrobeat musician and YBNL boss Olamide on the single "Tesinapot.”[2]

In the same year he released the single "Brokoto".[13]

In August 2021 he released his first EP, titled "Shopla".[14] The EP, which included contributions from Olamide and Joe Boy was featured by Apple Music in their Up Next initiative in September.[15]

Included in the EP is the Olamide-featured hit single "Survive".[3]

Jaido P released another single titled "Cram" in November 2021.[16] It was included as a soundtrack in the 2022 Netflix young adult TV series “Far From Home”, alongside "Tesina Pot."[17]

“Cram” was followed by the singles "Queen and More” in March 2022, “Reason Much” in July 2022, and double-track work "Disturb/Pablo Moves” in September 2022.[18][19][20][21]

In 2023, he co-founded the record label 23 Dreams, which manages his music. The label has released "One of a Kind" featuring YBNL signee Fireboy DML in March and "Neighbours" in July.[22][23] His single "Gbeff” was released on August 9.[24]
