Khilji Mosque, Delhi

The Jamaat Khana Masjid (Urdu: جماعت خانہ مسجد )also known as the Khilji Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in New Delhi. It was built by Khizr Khan son of Sultan Alauddin Khilji.[1] It was started in 1315 and ended up completely by 1325, It's work was stopped marking the death of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya in April 1325.[2][3][4] It is under the Nizamuddin Dargah complex and used as a place of prayer at Dargah.[5][6] The entry gate is full of Quranic Verses inscription.[7][8] The Masjid is now taken care of by Barelvi Hanafi Muslims as only the Barelvi community is visiting tombs and Dargahs. It is being conserved by the Aga Khan Trust of Culture which was started in 2014.[9][10]
