Jean Moorhead Duffy

Jean Carol McElderry Moorhead Duffy (née Macpherson; born December 17, 1938) is a former member of the California State Assembly. She represented the 5th district from December 4, 1978 until November 30, 1986.[2][3]

Life

Moorhead was born Jean Carol Macpherson in Oakland, California on December 17, 1938. She attended public schools in her hometown. She received her bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) in 1961 from Stanford University. She later continued her education at San Jose State University, earning her M.S. in Public Health in 1971. She worked as a public health nurse for Santa Clara County Health Department, then part-time at a clinic for migrant farm workers in southern Santa Clara County, California.[1]

Family

She married Ernest L. McElderry in 1960. The couple had four children. After their divorce, she married George V. Moorhead in 1974. That union also ended in divorce, in 1984. She married, thirdly, to Gordon W. Duffy in 1985.[1]
