Jeanne Nicholson

Jeanne Nicholson (born September 22, 1943) is a Democratic former-member of the Colorado Senate, who represented the 16th district from 2011 to 2015.[1] Her district encompasses the city of Georgetown, Colorado.[2]

Political career

Nicholson ran for Colorado State Representative, District 62, in 2000. She was defeated by Republican Glenn Scott.[3]

In 2010, she ran for Colorado State Senate, District 16, defeating Republican Tim Leonard.[3]

In the 2011 session of the Colorado General Assembly, Nicholson vice-chaired the local government committee and was a member of the appropriations, education and judiciary committees.[4]

In 2014, Nicholson ran for re-election and was defeated by in Republican Tim Neville.[3]

Personal

Nicolson is a retired public health nurse, having worked nearly 40 years in nursing.[5][6] She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1966; and earned a master of science degree from the University of Colorado in community health nursing in 1999. Her master's thesis was on "Politician's Perceptions of Public Health".[7]
