Jennifer Scott (curator)

Jennifer Scott (b.1979, Sunderland) has been director of Dulwich Picture Gallery since 2017. She was previously director of the Holburne Museum in Bath, and curator of paintings at Royal Collection Trust.

Scott's publications include: Rembrandt's Light (2019), Impressionism: Capturing Life (2016), Dutch Landscapes (2010), The Royal Portrait: Image and Impact (2010) and Bruegel to Rubens: Masters of Flemish Painting (2007).

She has curated a number of exhibitions including Rembrandt's Light at Dulwich Picture Gallery (2019), Bruegel: Defining a Dynasty at The Holburne Museum (2017) and Dutch Landscapes at The Queen's Gallery in London and The Bowes Museum in County Durham.

Career

Scott has been Director of Dulwich Picture Gallery since 2017. She was Director of the Holburne Museum, Bath from 2014-2017 and Curator of Paintings at Royal Collection Trust from 2004-2014. She previously worked at National Gallery and National Museums Liverpool.[1][2][3][4]

Scott received her BA and MA in History of Art from The Courtauld Institute of Art, London.[5]

She is chair of the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, governor of Alleyn's School, fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, and a Fellow Commoner of Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge.
