Joao Ortiz (Ecuadorian footballer)
Julio Joao Ortiz Landazuri (born 1 May 1996), sportingly known as Joao Ortiz,[2] is an Ecuadorian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Independiente del Valle.

Club career
Born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador,[3] Ortiz was with El Nacional and Universidad Católica as a youth player.
After playing on loan for Uruguayan side Plaza Colonia in 2015, he has developed his career in his country of birth. In the second level, he has played for San Antonio, Deportivo Quito and Clan Juvenil. In the third level, he played for Cumbayá.[4]
In the Ecuadorian Serie A, he has played for Universidad Católica, Clan Juvenil,[5] Deportivo Cuenca,[6] Delfín,[7] LDU Quito[8] and Independiente del Valle since 2022.[9][2]
International career
Ortiz was a member of the Ecuador under-17 squad in the 2013 South American Championship.[10]
At senior level, he made his debut in a friendly against Mexico in October 2021.[11]
