John Harington (died 1582)

John Harington (by 1517–82), of Stepney, Middlesex; Kelston, Somerset; Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, and of London, was an English Member of Parliament.

Harington served Thomas Seymour, Baron Seymour, husband of Queen Katherine Parr and uncle of Edward VI of England. Harington was married twice, first to Audrey Malte, daughter of Joan Malte and John Malte, Henry VIII's tailor. There were rumours that Audrey was the illegitimate daughter of Henry VIII. His second wife was Isabelle née Markham.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Pembroke in 1547, for Old Sarum in 1559 and Caernarvon Boroughs in 1563.[1]
