Jose M. Hontiveros was a Filipino lawyer, jurist and politician.

Early life and education
Hontiveros was born in Tangalan, Capiz (now a part of Aklan on 19 March 1889 to Leon Hontiveros and Genoveva Miraflores.[1] He received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Santo Tomas and placed first in the bar examinations the same year.[2]
Judicial career
Hontiveros held several positions in the judiciary before being appointed as an Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals in 1936. He served until 1946, when he was appointed by President Manuel Roxas to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. He retired from the bench the following year.[2]
Political career
Hontiveros served as Governor of Capiz from 1916 to 1919. In 1922, he was elected to the Philippine Senate as a Senator from the 7th Senatorial District, comprising Iloilo, Capiz and Romblon, and served until 1928.[1]
Death
He died on 21 May 1954.[2]
