History

KHS GmbH was established in 1993 from a merger involving Holstein & Kappert GmbH (H&K), founded in Dortmund in 1868, and Seitz-Werke GmbH, founded in Bad Kreuznach in 1887, which later became Seitz Enzinger Noll AG (SEN) in Bad Kreuznach (all in Germany).

Between 1977 and 1982 H&K (100%) and SEN (90%) were acquired by Klöckner-Werke AG in Duisburg, Germany. In 1993 H&K and SEN were merged to form KHS Maschinen- und Anlagenbau AG Dortmund. In 2007 Salzgitter AG acquired the majority share in Klöckner-Werke. In 2008 KHS Corpoplast, KHS Plasmax and KHS Moldtec were integrated into Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke GmbH. In 2010 KHS AG became KHS GmbH. In 2011 KHS GmbH became a wholly owned subsidiary of Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke.

In 2022 the KHS Group employed 5,002 people worldwide. In 2022 annual sales totaled €1.291 billion.

In doing so, KHS also supports the main objective of the Salzgitter Group strategy, namely to work towards a circular economy.

As an international company KHS has always been a reliable partner to its customers with its filling and packaging systems and continuously works to produce future-proof, safe and durable lines and machines that are gentle on resources. Another focus has always been to develop sustainable packaging systems that save on materials.
