Kamal Yusuf Malik

Kamal Yusuf Malik (7 January 1947 – 5 September 2022, Hindi: कमाल युसूफ मलिक, Urdu: کمال یوسف ملک) was an Indian politician. He was the five time member of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly from Domariyaganj. He is also founding member of Samajwadi Party.[1][2]

Political career

Malik Kamal Yusuf started his political career in 1971 with the election of the village head. He contested the assembly elections for the first time in 1974, although he failed, but he reached the assembly for the first time by contesting the assembly elections in 1977. After which, he became MLA for the second time in 1980, the third time in 1985, the fourth time in 2002, and the fifth and last time in 2012. He was a founding member of the Samajwadi Party.[3] He also contested the Lok Sabha elections from SP, but could not achieve success. In 2003, he was made the Minister of State for Geology and Mining in the Samajwadi Party Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh, and from 2004 to 2007, he was the Chairman (Minister of State level), Uttar Pradesh Waqf Development Corporation Limited.[4][5]
