Kayamozhi
Kayamozhi is a village 9 km west of Thiruchendur in Thoothukudi District, Tamil Nadu, India.[1][2] Its history goes back to the 16th century as the capital of the old Vadapattu region.[3]

The total population of Kayamozhi is 5,497, comprising 2,552 males and 2,945 females. The village has a literacy rate of 85%.[7]

- Kayamozhi contains all types of community people, including OBC (Aditanars, Nadars, Devars, Maruthuvars), SC (Paraiyars, Arunthathiyars) and some Nomadic tribes. Thirty to forty percent of the population is made up of scheduled caste people.[8]
- Despite the population being divided by caste, the people are united together. The annual muppudathi amman aadi festival unites the people, showing equality among people and a lack of caste discrimination.

Name and origin
- Kayamozhi = Khaya (can not dry) + Mozhi (Language). Kayamozhi means a place in which there is no deficit of language or resources.
- Kayamozhi is located 8 km west of Tiruchendur, 10 km east of Udangudi and 12 km south of Kurumbur.
