She debuted with the single "I'm Not Here" in 2017 after graduating from the Berklee College of Music.[5] Kiri focused on her music production in UK and US before returning to Hong Kong in 2019; she released popular tracks including Rearview Mirror[6] and Twenty-Something (Luician Remix). In 2021, she released her 2nd album, CHILI T, covering viral songs like Psycho, 10,000ft. and Temporary.[7][8][9] Most of her songs are in English, but she is also known locally for her Cantonese hits.[10] Her fanbase extends out of Hong Kong and covers countries like Britain, United States, Singapore and Taiwan. She had also received quite a number of awards.[11]

Biography

Before Debut

In 2009, Kiri composed the music for Joey Yung's song 兩面 as her first ever musical work while studying in the UK. Kiri went to high school in the UK and studied at Berklee College of Music in the United States. Later, in 2012, Kiri produced the song 無臉人, and in 2013, she wrote the song & lyrics of ALL IS FAIR after sending it to her idol Denise Ho and getting appreciation. She later was signed into Denise's record label Goomusic, and began to write songs for many singers.[12][13]

College Years

In 2015, she wrote her first ever song, Twenty-Something, and released it on Soundcloud. This captured the attention of another artist, Lucian, which wrote a remix version. Twenty-Something (Lucian Remix) got over 6 million streams on Spotify. Labels were interested in signing her, but she refused and became an independent singer-songwriter. In 2016, she performed at Denise's "Dear Friend" concert.

Kurious Grocery (2017-2022)

Kiri began her music career in New York, releasing popular tracks like Rearview Mirror, I'm Not Here and Strangers. Her debut album Golden Kiri (2019) and subsequent single releases which showcased her unique fusion of pop, R&B and electronic music have received strong local Hong Kong radio support and topped many English music charts.[14][15] She was also featured on Denise's 菇武門 Podcast and became a member of One One Collective.

Later, in 2020, she released her first Mandarin track Fuvk the Fairytale. In 2021, Kiri T released her second album, CHILI T. The album includes well-known tracks such as Temporary, Psycho, and 10,000ft.[16]

Warner Music (2022-present)

Kiri joined Warner Music Hong Kong as a part of the Future Is Now Program in July, 2022. She began to release cantonese tracks like Twist Cone and Eggnorant Sandwich.[17] She was also chosen as Spotify Hong Kong's EQUAL cover artist for March, 2023.[18]

Branding

Kiri used to have her own music label, Kurious Grocery, a subsidary of Denise Ho's Goomusic.[19] The label was created back in 2017 but ceased operations in 2022 when Kiri joined Warner Music Hong Kong.
