The following is a List of teams that have finished first place in each British rugby league season.

Note that due to the varying inclusion and non-inclusion of a playoff system within the competition, the team that finished first in regular season have not always been champions. A list of champions can be found at List of British rugby league champions. Teams that have been declared champions based off league position and hence not by playoffs are denoted in bold.

Since 2003, teams finishing first in regular season have been awarded the League Leaders' Shield.
