List of mayors of Hawthorn, Victoria

This is a list of mayors and chairmen of the City of Hawthorn, a former local government area in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and its precedents. It existed from 1856 until 1994 when it merged with the City of Kew and the City of Camberwell to form the new City of Boroondara.

5John de la Roche Bragge1865-1866Roche Bragge (c. 1816 - 9 May 1875) was an Australian surgeon.[1]

Bragge was living in Victoria and working as a doctor as of 1854.[2] As of 1856 he was living in Hawthorn and working as a doctor of medicine and that year he served as a collector of votes in the elections for the District of South Bourke, Central, and South Province.[3][4]

In 1860 Bragge was elected to the inaugural Municipal Council of Hawthorn when the body was established and in 1865 he was elected as the Mayor and served for a year.[5] As of 1870 he was practicing as a surgeon in Hawthorn.[6]

In 1875 Bragge died at his residence in Hawthorn.[1]
