Club career

Having scored sixteen goals in thirteen games for Domžale's youth teams at the beginning of the 2022–23 season, Topalović was rewarded with a new contract at the club in March 2023.[1] He scored his first goal for the senior squad the following month, opening the scoring in an eventual 1–1 draw with Gorica on 28 April.[2] In doing so, he became the youngest goal-scorer in the Slovenian PrvaLiga.[3]

On 11 October 2023, he was named by English newspaper The Guardian as one of the best players born in 2006 worldwide.[4][5]

International career

Topalović has represented Slovenia from under-16 to under-19 level.[6]

Topalović's parents are originally Croats from Kotor Varoš, which makes him eligible to represent Croatia or Bosnia-Herzegovina.
